Dear Parents and Students,
What a fabulous week of writing! All of the students worked so hard polishing and refining their writing skills. I witnessed a lot of growth in their writing this week! Thank you so much to all of you who contributed time with your student finishing up compositions and all the homeroom moms for providing snacks to keep us afloat!
As you know, we will be taking the Writing STAAR test next Tuesday. We will not have spelling or reading logs next week so that students can be rested. Please help by ensuring your child has a full night's rest and a healthy and filling breakfast. A snack and water will be provided each day. If you would like to send an additional snack with your child, please make sure it is a dry, non-sticky snack. Snacks that stain fingers and/or are juicy (ie. cheetos, and fruit....) also stain STAAR documents and answer sheets. I will be sending home all writing from Cruise Write Along today in their blue Cruise Write Along folders. Please review their compositions to celebrate this past week and help to brainstorm even more ideas they could possibly use for STAAR. It has happened before that the STAAR prompt was actually very similar to one we had already written!!
** No technology of any kind that has the capability of connecting to the internet (Fitbit, Ipad, smart phone, kindle... etc.) is permitted within the testing room. I am required to collect all devices and store them in a separate, secure location - including my own. If your child needs to bring any of these items, they will be returned at the end of the testing day.**
