Dear Parents,
What a tremendous Red Ribbon Week we have celebrated! Students are enjoying our poetry unit. I have such creative writers! Don't forget to mark your calendars for Coffee House Poetry on November 30th at 8:00 am. It is an event not to miss!
FRIDAY FEAST: Thank you 4th grade parents for hosting the Friday Feast. Everything was delicious, and this treat is appreciated.
DEAD WORDS:
The deadline for the Dead Word project is Wednesday, the 31st. Make sure all components on the orange project sheet have been included on the final project. Students may bring completed projects in as early as Monday.
The funeral for the Dead Words will be Wednesday morning. Students are encouraged to dress in black in memory of their lost words.
HALLOWEEN:
I will be home on Wednesday to pass out treats. If your trick or treater can stop by, I would love to see them. My address is 10629 Bramblecrest Drive.
MENTOR POEM:
Students will memorize a poem of a minimum of 16 lines by a published author. Your child's mentor poem is due on Friday. Their mentor poem must be typed and illustrated. This poem will be recited before parents and peers at Coffee House Poetry. Students will also recite two original poems of their creation. The following link explains the benefits of poetry memorization along with tips on memorization.
