Another week has flown by in fourth grade! I can't believe we are approaching Valentines Day! A list will go home in the Tuesday folders of each student in our class so that your child will be able to have a valentine for each of their classmates. They will also need to create a valentine box to receive all their sweet treats and notes! I have found having a large opening in their box is easiest for the delivery of goodies! Your child can be as creative as they like, just be sure their name is visible on their design. Students can bring in Valentine Boxes starting on February 13th.
From Ms. Crawford: We are happy to announce that our 4th grade team will gain additional support in the form of a Long-Term Substitute Teacher. We will not make smaller classes; however, we will utilize this additional teacher to provide more targeted instruction for smaller group settings. As we begin to form these groups, we will notify you if additional support for your child is warranted, whether that be for extension or intervention activities. Please remember that all Long Term Sub positions hold a valid teaching certificate. If you have any questions, please contact either April Crawford, Principal or Kelly Friede, Assistant Principal.
Cold and flu season is upon us. We would appreciate any donations of Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer. We have discussed with students the importance of washing hands and covering mouths and noses when couching and sneezing. If your child does become sick, please notify the front office and me. I will put any missed work in the office by 2:00 pm for you to pick up each day. Thank you!
Mr. Neuman, a Geographic Systems Analyst for the City of Hutto and son of our 5th grade teacher Mrs. Neuman, has graciously volunteered his time and will be creating an interactive map that will include the birth cities of the grandparents of all students at CCE. The final map will be presented during Multicultural Week. If you would like your child’s grandparents to be included, please fill out the form by clicking on the link below. Please respond with the city, state, and/or country where two of your student's grandparents were born (one from the paternal side and one from the maternal side). One set of entries per child please. If you have already submitted this information with a link from the PTA you do not need to resubmit. Submissions received after January 26th may not be included in the final map.

Best of luck to those students participating in the UIL academic competition on Saturday. I will be there cheering on my students!
