Yippee! Texas Day was rootin’ tootin’ fun! The cowgirls and cowboys sketched the Texas four regions with edible markers onto scrumptious sugar cookies. They explored the Texas map and enjoyed some cold, juicy watermelon. Also, they created beautiful bluebonnets and priceless photo frames. Thank you to all the parents who helped and volunteered to make Texas Day such a huge success!
The students and I enjoyed spending time with you all at Open House. They loved showing off their work and looking ahead to 5th grade.
May is here! This is such a busy time for us here at school and for families at home as well. We are continuing to work hard and learn each day to prepare for Fifth Grade! Please send your child to school rested and ready to learn every morning. If you are leaving prior to the last day of school (June 5th) please notify Mrs. Klaus and me.
Family Fun Fest is THIS Saturday, May 9, from 1-4 PM. This is a fun event for the entire community so be sure to mark your calendars! This great event will be held in conjunction with the Fun Run. The Fun Run will be from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., and then the Family Fun Fest will kick off at 1:00 p.m. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Our field trip to The Meadows Center (aka Aquarena Springs) in San Marcos is Friday, May 15th. Your child will need to bring a disposable sack lunch and drink. If you plan to pack a lunch that needs to stay cool, you may want to freeze a water bottle to place inside the sack to keep the food refrigerated. We ask that the children wear their CCE t-shirts and bring a towel/blanket. We look forward to learning more about our natural springs and aquatic species.
For Science next week, we are asking each student to bring in a yo-yo by Monday. It does not need to be a fancy one, but one that can easily slide up and down. The kids are excited about using the yo-yo for a fun science experiment. May the FORCE be with you.
If you have any scrapbooking supplies, stickers, stationery, etc, please send those in with your child. We will begin making our Memory books soon, and appreciate any materials.
