Dear Parents and Students,
Well, YeeHaw! What a week! Texas Day was such a great time to spend with all of the students. Thank you so very much for gathering supplies, tools and the fixin's. It really is such a fun and special way to teach the culture of our great state! A special thanks to Ms. Jourdan, Ms. Ramsey, and Ms. Bryant for making our Texas-sized sugar cookies for all of fourth grade. I appreciate you!
As you know, we will be taking the Math and Reading STAAR test next Monday and Tuesday. Please help by ensuring your child has a full night's rest and a healthy, filling breakfast. A snack with water will be provided each day. If you would like to send an additional snack with your child, please make sure it is a dry, non-sticky snack. Snacks that stain fingers and/or are juicy (ie. cheetos, and fruit....) also stain STAAR documents and answer sheets.

Wow! It is hard to believe that it is time to announce our last Character Word of the Month! Our May word of the month is MOTIVATION. Motivation means that you have the drive and desire to do something. We need to be motivated to come to school every day. We need to be motivated to work hard at school and do our best. We are in the LAST full month of school so lets work together to stay motivated!! In May, if your teacher sees you staying motivated, then you will get a sticker to wear all day so that other students will know that you demonstrated our Character Word of the Month!!
Permission Forms: The campus is having to implement a new form that is consistent across the district. You should have received a white one (Symphony trip) and an orange one (Meadows trip) in this past Tuesday folder. As this is a new form for us all, we aren't used to there being two sides. Many of you who have returned the forms already (THANK YOU!), forgot to sign the back. I will place these forms back in your child's Tuesday folder. I would greatly appreciate it if you could sign it and return it on Wednesday. If you haven't had the opportunity to get the form in yet, please do not forget to sign the back!
Our Showcase will be held on May 19th. I look forward to seeing you there. We will hold the showcase from 7:30 - 8:15 to accommodate all of you who need to head on in to work after. We hope this is a convenient time for you. The showcase will be 100% student led. If you want to have an end of year conference with me, please email me and we can schedule a time during the week of May 16th.
