Dear Families,
We have had quite the eventful week, especially in Science! Enjoy the pics above of your child working to separate a "beach" mixture with given tools!
Multiplication continues to be an area of focus for us. It is very evident those who are confident in these skills and those who still have not mastered their facts. Front loading this practice will only benefit your kiddo. The fourth grade curriculum explores, in depth, finding equivalent fractions, reducing fractions, and division. Multiplication is an essential skill for building these concepts. Many students who are not confident in their multiplication struggle mastering these concepts.
Back to school night is this Tuesday, after the PTA meeting, from 7:00 - 7:30. You will be able to learn a little more about the processes of our classroom, procedures, sign up for conferences, and enjoy a little note from your child. I look forward to seeing each of you. Due to space constraints, if at all possible, we ask for students/children to not attend this meeting.
'From the Counselor:
September is here and it is time to kick off our FIRST character word of the month! Our character word for September is RESPONSIBILITY!! Responsibility means that you do what you are supposed to do, without being asked. In school, you sit in your seat, you raise your hand, you do your classwork--without being asked! At home, you help with chores, you do your homework, you get ready in the morning--without being asked! In September, if your teacher sees you being responsible, then you will get a sticker to wear all day so that other students will know that you demonstrated our Character Word of the Month! And thank you parents for supporting the Character Counts program by reinforcing our word of the month at home!!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mary Jo
