What a wonderful week with your students. March is here!
SHHHH!!!! An envelope with a CONFIDENTIAL stamp came home in this week's Tuesday folder. Please be sure to read the note, keep it private, and return in a sealed envelope no later than March 11th so your
child is able to receive this validation from you.
FIELD TRIP: What a great trip to the Bob Bullock Museum yesterday. A huge thanks to Mr. Gorelik, Ms. Ingram, Ms. Nistala, Ms. Sobey, and Ms. Ramsey for chaperoning. Thank you so much for coming with us and making this a fantastic learning experience! A special thanks to Ms. Blashke for organizing this memorable trip for our fourth grade students.
From the Counselor....
March is here! As of today, there are ONLY 62 days left of school. So guess what our Character Word of the Month is? PERSEVERANCE!! Perseverance means that you keep going...you keep pushing yourself--even when you want to give up. If you are doing homework or a chore, you keep working until you are done. Giving up is not an option. In March, if your teacher sees you showing perseverance, then you will get a sticker to wear all day so that other students will know that you demonstrated our Character Word of the Month!
CRUISE WRITE ALONG: The fourth grade classes are preparing for the upcoming Writing STAAR test and setting sail on our Cruise Write Along during the week of March 21-24, and we need your help!
During the week of Cruise Write Along, the students will be venturing into a series of fun activities. They will learn exciting new cruise songs and techniques to improve their writing compositions.
In order to make this a memorable experience, we will be transforming our classrooms into a cruise ship/beach theme. We need beach items such as floats and boats (already blown up), towels, low sitting beach chairs, and anything that would make our classrooms feel like we are going on a cruise or hangin' at the beach.
If you are able to lend us any of these items, please send them to school Monday, March 21st. Please make sure that each item is labeled so that we may return it to the rightful owners.
Each day, your child may wear:
Monday, March 21: Hat Day
Tuesday, March 22: Tropical Wear
Wednesday, March 23: Sunglasses
Thursday, March 24: Cruise Ship Attire
Evening activities will include completing any final composition that was not finished in class that day. There will not be spelling homework or IXL assigned for this week. Students however, will still be working to complete three activities on their reading log.
We look forward to having a fantastic learning adventure with our Cruise Write Along excursion. Thank you for your continued support, and a huge thank you to our Room Moms for helping me set up our room.
